"The Berlin Masters Schliemann Residency offered me time and space to go down paths in my practice which otherwise I would have never found time and space to go down on. Then there was the connection to Arles, its cultural life and its people, which strongly influenced my stay. Also, the diversity of Provence: Cities like Marseille on the one hand, natural wonders like Les Alpilles on the other. Day trips and focused work. And the summer, the light and the sea." - Paul Hutchinson
